Last night I was fortunate enough to accompany my creative partner, the mighty Leila (‘Don’t Speak Whinese’ - Follow the link for her review!) to an advance screening of Disney / Pixar’s new epic animated slice of awesomecake - ‘Brave’ at the Disney Animation Studios lot in Burbank, California. My two word review: ‘OHMANIJUSTCANTEVEN HOWDOIAPPLYTOBESCOTTISHPLEASE’.
I had been chatting with the ultra talented writer and director of the movie, Brenda Chapman recently and was absolutely inspired to paint something for her by way of a thank you. And here it is :)So thank you, Brenda - For sharing your story with us. Thank you for amusing me, terrifying me, uplifting me and truly making me want to shed this artist life and BECOME that bold, independent Scottish princess. You know what I mean.
Thank you, Leila - For inviting me along, for letting me grip your arm until it went a little bit purple when all the terrifying things happened. For decoding my absolutely terrible directions (‘There’s a Starbucks down here!’, ‘Where’, ‘…upwards?’) and for generally being absolutely brilliant.
And thank you, of course, to those of you who have supported and encouraged me to pursue my relentlessly cheerful artistic destiny (see - Scottish princess) for the past few years. I honestly can’t tell you how appreciative I am for everything you guys do to push me along. You, my friends, rock. ROCK <3
